I’m actually not lol! I guess it only seems that way because recently those are the only guys in my life right now haha. My last relationship was with an American guy! 

The only reason why it seems I have a lot of Korean guys going in and out of my life is because I try to meet Korean people so as to practice and improve on my speaking skills. It just so happens that I write about the guys, but of course I have a lot of Korean girlfriends too ^^ 

But really~ I’m just your normal girl who loves all men hahaha. If there so happens to be a non-Korean guy coming into my life I’m sure I’ll write about him too, but since that hasn’t happen yet guess I’ll just have to wait~ ^^

LOL! I totally agree. When I was in New York for vacation, I went to ktown and yeah…let me just tell you the Koreans guys there tend to be shady. Not all of course, but some…majority…most…hahaha. I think there’s just a very big difference when it comes to Korean guys in Korea and Korean-Americans. Korean-Americans are more…I guess forward and outgoing? While Korean guys are shy and kept to themselves…unless they’re drunk then all hell breaks loose lol.

Anyways~ I’m rambling on! I hope you find the right guy soon! If you don’t mind me being a busybody, do sometimes send me a message to let me know how it goes! hahaha.

Club Ellui in Korea just uploaded some new photos on their facebook page from one of their events and being bored I decided to look through them. What did I come across? I saw a picture of one of the guys I went on a few dates with while I was in Korea. My reaction was literally…

He’s gotten noticeably thinner and paler…or it could just be the angle and flash, but other than that he still looks exactly the same haha. Still wearing the same hat when I first met him lol. Although I have to say his dimples in these pictures do him no justice! 

Man…nostalgia is kicking in as crazy as ever. I actually thought about putting the picture up here, but I feel like I shouldn’t to keep his privacy. He knows I have a blog about Korea although he doesn’t know it’s tumblr, or well, he doesn’t even know what tumblr is hahaha.

I’m sorry, but 1km is only available in Korean. If you want something similar to 1km, but in English there’s the “Who’s Here” app. However there’s not as many Koreans on there and mostly Americans. There’s another app though called Doki Doki Postbox where you can send messages to each other and that is also in English. There are a lot of Koreans on there. The Doki Doki one isn’t really a profile set up thing so it’s pretty much just like text messaging. 

Wow really!? You found out about 1km because of me? Well don’t I feel pretty darn special right now hahaha.

I’m so happy that things are turning out great for you! Where are you from? A lot of the guys that messaged me on there live so far from my area so it’s a bit hard to meet and stuff >< But anyways~ Congrats! ^^ I hope things will work out for you and that you have loads of fun on your 3rd date~ :) Go get ‘em!

Sighs. I think I just jinxed myself by saying that there might be something with the Purina guy, but there’s nothing lol. Honestly anon, you think I don’t understand the hardships that Korean men go through? I was IN Korea. I have friends who are currently IN the army. I know exactly what is going on and never said it was easy. Not to mention my own home country use to carry out this same law as well. I know it all too well. So please don’t automatically assume that I’m ignorant about it.

All I’m saying is that if he respects his own country enough, he would carry out his duty like every other Korean male. There should be no exception unless he is physically ill. There’s been many cases where Korean men try to dodge their service and it always just ends badly. As long as he can be strong enough and fulfill his duties for two years he wouldn’t have to worry about all that now, would he? Also, I only post one screen cap, but if I put up the whole conversation, you could tell that he just wants a green card so as to stay in America. Being Asian-American I have seen and heard so many stories where people marry over to get their green card and you know what? Being the one willing to marry someone for money is even worse no matter what the situation is. I have the decency to know that marriage isn’t a childish matter.

And my koreaboo self is gross? Well aren’t we acting a bit immature? I never forced you to read my blog so if you feel that way then you can just ignore my posts. It’s as simple as that.

My first ever proposal was by some random Korean guy on 1km lol. The first thing he messaged me was “do you want to make some money” and in my mind I already knew this conversation was going to be bad hahaha. Apparently he’s an international student studying in New York, but has to leave soon because his visa is expiring and he has to fulfill his military service. He even said he would come to wherever I am and pay me $5,000USD for the marriage.

What a douche. Suck it up man and just get your damn military service done with! If my most weakest and girly looking Korean guy friend can survive his military service, you can too!

So I was complaining to a friend about how lackluster my life has been lately. Literally all I do is go to my summer class and then go home and watch random videos and do random shit all day lol. She then told me to download an app called “Who’s Here” saying that I will definitely get a kick out of it so I was like alright not knowing what it really was.

And geeeeezzzzzz! The amount of messages I got within the first like…30 minutes? from random guys trying to holla at me…I am not amused. Exhibit A…

And I’m like…

Ok, I lied. I am a little amused lol. It’s like 1km, but not Korean haha hence why mostly non-Asian guys are messaging me. But like just these last three guys were Korean and I’m sitting here like wahhhhhhh how do they know? And then I realize that in my profile I put down Korean as one of the languages I can speak… 

Fail on my part I know lol! But hey~ there has to be at least ONE decent person on here to talk to, right? Sighs. I’m losing faith lol.

Made one of my favorite Korean dish for the family dinner today! Buddae jjigae~ Feels like being in Korea all over again ^^ Needless to say it was delicious haha. But I made too much opps~ Anyone wants some? lol.

오늘 엄마랑 부대찌개 만들었어~ 내 제일 좋아하는 한국 음식 와~ 너무 맛있어! 미국 스타일 부대찌개 ㅋㅋㅋ 같이 먹을래? ㅎㅎ

Some of you guys have been asking me how my 1km meet up with the Korean-American guy the other day was and well…I never got to write about it because we didn’t meet up……………..hmmph!

He couldn’t come because he was out drinking with his 후배s who came here to visit him. I mean…it’s a legit excuse seeing as they came all the way here to see him, but still! He always says we should hang out when we kakao each other and stuff, but we haven’t ever actually got to yet! It’s so frustrating~ I honestly don’t know what he’s thinking meh. 

But aside from him~ there’s another guy that I’ve been talking to. He goes to a university about 2 hours away from me and I also met him on 1km. I actually talked to this guy even before the Korean-American guy so yeah. We also said that we should hang out one day, but at least with him we actually have kakao conversations about things whereas with Korean-American guy all we talk about is when we’re gonna hang out and we like plan it, but it never happens ><

Maybe I should actually try to meet this second guy instead. He’s also my 오빠, but is 24 so I don’t feel as much of an age gap with him compared to Korean-American guy.

And ok I should give them names so I don’t have to type that out ever single time haha. Korean-American guy’s name will be Purina because he works for that company lol. Second guy…I’ll call him 두시 or 2 hours because he lives 2 hours away from me hahaha. 

Sighs…when will I actually get to meet these guys? I guess I’ll just leave it all up to fate.

Hi anon! Thanks for all the questions~ I shall answer them one by one ^^

1. Well honestly since I can speak Korean pretty decently, when I meet a Korean person for the first time I usually just introduce myself as a foreigner so they would know. Otherwise, if someone were to mistaken me for being Korean, if they talk to me long enough they would know that my vocabulary isn’t that broad and my accent isn’t always spot on so they can tell I’m not a local haha. Also usually if you meet that person at school or something they will most likely ask if you’re an international or exchange student since at Sogang, since we have so many, students tend to ask that first anyways just to know ^^

2. Hmm…the Koreans there just treat me like I was one of them? Like sometimes they would go out of there way more for foreigners. For example, not making them speak formally or ignoring some of their cultural mistakes while for me, since I know all the Korean cultural differences and can speak it, they literally just treated me like any of their regular Korean friends. So it’s pretty funny when I do ask them questions as a foreigner because sometimes my friends forget that I’m not Korean hahaha. But then again sometimes I do stick out too so it can go both ways haha.

3. As for the clubbing questions hmm…it really depends on where you’re at. Like in Itaewon, since it is predominantly where foreigners are at, the Korean guys that go there would more likely want to find a non Asian-American girl. But if you’re in like Hongdae, the majority of the guys there don’t care. However, as always, Korean guys do get intrigued by foreigner girls whether you’re Asian or not so wherever you go, if they know you’re a foreigner and hear you speak English, about 8 out of 10 times they will come up to you and try to befriend you. Or at least just say random English phrases they know and then run away shyly hahahaha. As for me although I’m Asian-American, I am also mixed with French too so the Koreans can kind of tell I wasn’t fully Asian, you know? So guys did show their interest in me. Also the fact that I can speak Korean makes them like me even more lol. Since it’s kind of like…having the best of both worlds for them because they can be with a foreigner girl and also speak Korean having not to worry about language barriers and stuff like that. I honestly think that’s the only reason why guys showed a lot of interest in me more than some of my other foreigner friends because if I didn’t know any Korean at all, it would be hard for a lot of them to communicate with me. 

But yeah~ I really did have a great time ^^ I hope you have an amazing time too! Actually let me rephrase that, I KNOW you will have an amazing time haha. When you go, make a tumblr too! It’s nice to document all the experiences that you will have :)

I love my school in Korea, I really do! But when it comes to college festivals, hands down Yonsei got it! lol. As you can tell by this video.

But of course I wouldn’t be complaining if I was actually at Sogang’s festival right now hahaha.

I’m not sure if everyone knows, but if you’ve been following me during my study abroad journey in Korea, you guys should probably remember that I ran into EXO before at the Incheon Airport. I shall post the picture again! Hahaha since I like to brag. Ahem.

So yeah~ Because of this fateful meeting, I feel like I have a connection with EXO and became a fan! Bigger one since I did like them before this ^^ Though I have to say, I’m more of an EXO-M fan than EXO-K, but they’re all talented boys so no hate! 

Anyways! So I was excited when I heard they were having their comeback. Once the teaser was released though I was kind of…baffled? Since to me, and pretty much all the kpop fandom lol, saw them as cute little kittens prowling around trying to be like a wolf hahahaha. Exhibit A…

Yeah I’ve made my point with just one picture heh. 

And then once the full music video was released, I was just speechless since well…there was just so much to take in! The song was crazy, the choreography was crazy, and just everything was so…crazy! lol. It wasn’t until I got my hands on the album and actually listen to all the songs did I finally came to the conclusion of, “Yes! I like it! This album rocks~” It also took me a few listens, but Wolf has now grown on me. As ridiculous as those “oolfs” were haha I came to embrace this song. It’s the typical hardcore style of a song that SM is known for. And I’m sure all the fans were excited to hear the full version of Baby, Don’t Cry. I was more excited to hear the full version of My Lady though hahaha. 

MY ONLY COMPLAINT! Where is my man XiuMin!?!?! Like come on! He had two lines in the Korean version of Wolf and then had only ONE close up shot in the Chinese version of the music video!

This measly 1 second did not satisfy me at all! I know Kai is super popular and everyone loves him, but he does NOT need to be shown every other scene! And don’t even get me started on Chen who only finally appeared halfway through the music video. I’m not one who really points out SM’s abundant use of favoritism, but with EXO, it’s just too obvious for my liking. SM, you need to shed some light onto these other talented members too. I’m sure all the Kai fans will disagree with me, but hey~ that’s the kpop fandom for ya.

So to make up for the lack of my favorite EXO member, I will now proceed to post lovely gifs of him to share with the world~ Since everyone needs some baozi in their life hahaha ^^

Someone asked me before if I met any soldiers while I was in Korea and my answer is yes!

There are a lot of times when they came to my university during official holiday breaks. The reason? To visit their girlfriends of course! haha. I still remember walking to class that day and seeing my campus filled with guys in their uniforms. It was then I understood the whole “all men look good in uniform” expression lol. And it was super cute seeing them be lovey dovey with their girlfriends since I know it must have been super long since they last seen each other. So instead of getting annoyed with all the PDA that Koreans usually do, I was very accepting that day hehe.

I also met a few soldiers too before when I was visiting a temple on a school field trip. It was the temple’s 100 something year anniversary the day we went so a bunch of soldiers were there for a visit. It was so funny seeing all of them eyeing us foreigners. Especially the girls! hahaha. It’s already enough that they have’t seen girls in awhile, but now foreigner girls? Yeah, those military guys were all in heaven alright hahaha. 

Since there were so many of them, I decided to ask for a picture with some of them and they agreed right away! lol.

They thought I was Korean at first, but then I took off my sunglasses for a bit and they saw how big and light my eyes were and were like, “wait! you’re not Korean?” hahahahaha. It was hilarious. After taking the picture about four of them stuck around and started talking to me and asking where I was from and stuff. They were trying so hard to speak English to me it was so cute. I was like, “it’s ok! you can speak Korean to me. I understand.” Then all the guys were like omg she knows korean! One of the guy was even saying, I like you! to me hahaha. But alas~ their head sergeant saw them talking to me and yelled at them to come back. He even made them do the up and down squat thing as a punishment. The reason? For chatting to a foreigner girl apparently ><  I felt so bad, but hey! They were the ones talking to me not the other way around lol. But even then, one of the guy was like eyeing me from the side and smiling at me. Trying to give me the it’s not your fault look. Awwww~

I think I like Korean guys when they’re in the military more sometimes because they’re so much more blunt with their feelings lol.
